Headache can be either the leading cause of pain or a symptom of an underlying issue in the body. Triggers

Causes and treatment

Inflammatory substances that can trigger pain receptors in the blood vessels and nerves of the head might be the cause of migraines. There are many ways to cure a migraine, treatment usually involves analgesics, such as aspirin or acetaminophen, and resting in a darkened room.

If typical analgesics show no results, then a doctor would typically prescribe antimigraine drugs commonly known as triptans. Triptans shrink and contract blood vessels, reversing brain changes that trigger migraines.
